Set in the 1930s, EPIC PROPORTIONS tells the story of two brothers, Benny
and Phil, who go to the Arizona desert to be extras in the huge Biblical
epic Exeunt Omnes.  Things move very quickly in this riotous comedy and
before you know it, Phil is directing the movie and Benny is starring in it.
To complicate matters further they both fall in love with Louise, the
Assistant Director in charge of the extras.  Along the way there are
gladiator battles, the Ten Plagues, and a cast of thousands portrayed by
four to six other actors.

The play satirizes the grand epics of Cecil B. DeMille in a style
reminiscent of the Marx Brothers.

Characters:
Benny, the younger brother - 20's; lovable, put-upon, not too bright
Phil, the older brother - late 20's/early 30's
Louise - 20's; bright, attractive, sharp (think Rosalind Russell or Barbara
Stanwyck)
D.W. DeWitt, the director - mid 40's/early 50's; aristocratic, arrogant,
touch of madness

The Cast of Thousands - flexible casting*
1.  - Jack, Roman General, Conspirator, Brady, Gladiator
2.  - Shel, Extra, Egyptian, Conspirator, Guard, Executioner, Gladiator
3.  - The Queen, Conspirator, Egyptian Dancing Girl
4.  - Cochette, Extra
5.  - Octavium, Slavemaster, Egyptian, Guard, Gladiator
